SERMON NOTES

WEEK 1

DESCRIPTION
The greatest struggle we face as Christians is to stay in faith no matter the circumstances. This month Pastor teaches us to see struggle in a different way. We believe as you read these notes God is working in and through you.

NOTES
We all have some kind of struggle.

The reason why there are struggles in our life is because of the 3 enemies we have:

1.    The world system (around us).
2.    Our flesh (within us).
3.    The devil (coming against us).

Romans 5:12
Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [[a]no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned.

•    With sin came struggle; with struggle came stress.

The greatest struggle for Christians is to stay in faith when struggles come.

Jude 1:1-3 (TLB) (see also NEB)
From: Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and a brother of James.
To: Christians everywhere—beloved of God and chosen by him. 2 May you be given more and more of God’s kindness, peace, and love.

•    If you don’t have excess you can’t give to the kingdom of God.

3 Dearly loved friends, I had been planning to write you some thoughts about the salvation God has given us, but now I find I must write of something else instead, urging you to stoutly defend the truth that God gave once for all to his people to keep without change through the years.

•    Truth is His Word.
•    We need to read it daily.  There is no growth without consistency.
•    We shouldn’t change the bible to conform to our situations.
•    The greatest struggle is stay in the Word and speak the Word.

4 Ways to Overcome Struggle

1.    Make the Word your foundation.
2.    Make the Word first place.
3.    Make the Word your first response.
4.    Feed your spirit daily with the Word

1 Corinthians 15:21-22
21 For since [it was] through a man that death [came into the world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead [has come].
22 For just as [because of their [c]union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their [d]union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive.

CONFESSIONS
•    I walk by faith and not by sight.

GOLDEN NUGGETS
•    Our greatest struggle is to stay in faith.

WEEK 2

DESCRIPTION
This week Pastor Blunt continues his teaching, The Struggle is Real. Learn more about the greatest struggle in the Christian life and how to successfully make it through. We believe as you read these notes God's Word is working in and through you.

NOTES
We all have struggles in our life.

The following verses show us what is our greatest struggle:

Jude 1:1-3 (TLB) (see also NEB)
1From: Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and a brother of James.
To: Christians everywhere—beloved of God and chosen by him. 2 May you be given more and more of God’s kindness, peace, and love. 3Dearly loved friends, I had been planning to write you some thoughts about the salvation God has given us, but now I find I must write of something else instead, urging you to stoutly defend the truth that God gave once for all to his people to keep without change through the years.

•    The greatest challenge is that when we are in a struggle, we speak God’s Word.

Luke 4:1-4 KJV
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him, if thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

•    During Jesus’ greatest struggle His first response was to speak to God’s Word.
•    When we are tested, we should not forget to quote scriptures.
•    The first thing that needs to come out of our mouth is: “it is written”.

Mark 14: 15-17 KVJ

The sower soweth the Word.
15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

•    The sower is the person proclaiming the Word.
•    The devil is after the Word of God that is in our life (the seed). He doesn’t want you to stand on God’s Word.
•    If we don’t have God’s Word in us, we won’t endure.

HOW TO WIN IN THE STRUGGLE:
1.    Ask God for a hunger for His Word.
2.    Develop a daily habit to be in His Word.
3.    Get hooked on the book.

REASONS TO GET HOOKED ON THE BIBLE:
1.    It will build your faith.
2.    It will give you success and prosperity.
3.    It will heal your body.

GOLDEN NUGGETS
•    Our greatest struggle is to stay in Faith.
•    If we don’t have God’s Word we won’t endure.

WEEK 3

DESCRIPTION
This week Pastor Blunt continues his teaching on The Struggle Is Real. This week we focus on how to overcome the struggle of depression. We believe as you read these notes God's Word is working in and through you.

BIG IDEAS
Your ability to overcome adversity is connected to your self-talk.

Our biggest struggle is that we don’t stop believing, saying and standing on God’s Word.

NOTES
1.    Struggle is a part of life.
2.    Struggle is the process of growth and potential.
3.    My self-talk determines if I win or lose in the struggle.

THINGS YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR A JOB OR PROMOTION
•    Right attitude
•    Skills
•    Must have become victorious over adversity

Your ability to overcome adversity is connected to your self-talk.
•    What you are saying to yourself is more important than what anyone is saying to you.
•    Speak confessions, affirmations, and declarations.

Our biggest struggle is that we don’t stop believing, saying and standing on God’s Word.
•    The attitude of a patient determines how long they will stay in recovery.
•    Jude 1:3 (NEB)

WHAT ARE WE LISTENING TO?

Philemon 1:6 KJV
That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
•    Acknowledging is confessing
•    Our faith is released with our words

Kenneth Hagin teaches you should look in the New Testament for the words “in Him”, “in Christ”, “in whom” and declare those over yourself.

The only offensive part of the armor of faith is the sword of the Spirit, which is us confessing God’s Word.  It is the only way to go to new territory.

Psalm 13 (NLT)
In this chapter, David went from depression to joy through self-talk.

10 Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?

•    David had a dream God had given him, but right then he was frustrated because Saul is chasing him.
•    David is depressed, discouraged and God wouldn’t answer because he is asking God out of frustration and not out of Faith.

3 Turn and answer me, O Lord restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.

•    David called him Jehovah Elohim, and, in this verse, he is starting to remember the promise.

5 But I trust in Your unfailing love. I will rejoice because You have rescued me.

•    David is starting to walk in Faith.

6 I will sing to the Lord because He is good to me.

•    Nothing had changed in David’s circumstances, but he did.  He is acting as everything changed and it’s because he was self-talking, singing and rejoicing.

SKILLSET FOR THE STRUGGLE

1.    Get in faith.
2.    Practice rejoicing in the Lord, not in your circumstances.
3.    Sing songs unto the Lord.
4.    Call things that be not as if they are.
